Three original picture pairs for children and families. Look closely, circle the changes on picture B, then check the solution sheet — every difference is circled and numbered.

How to play

Look, compare, circle

The two pictures look the same at first. Something has been removed, changed shape or turned around in picture B. The instruction at the top says how many changes to find.

  1. Work in sections. Compare one corner at a time, then the middle, rather than looking at the whole picture at once.
  2. Count things. Petals, buttons, stripes and bubbles are easy to change — count them in both pictures.
  3. Look for missing parts. A handle, a line or a shadow can quietly disappear.
  4. Tick as you go. Tick a numbered box each time you circle a change, so you know how many are left.

Difficulty

Who each picture suits

Picnic in the park (ages 4+) has five big, clear changes. Under the sea (ages 5+) has six, including a fish that has turned round. A snowy day (ages 6+) has six smaller changes that need careful looking, such as a shorter nose and a narrower hat brim.

These puzzles help children practise looking carefully and describing what they see. Ask them to say each difference out loud — “the crab has only one claw” — before checking the answer.
